UWSP is proud of its roots in Stevens Point—a generous, welcoming community where residents consider themselves part of the Pointer Family. Among these extended family members are several merchants and small-business owners who collaborate with the university on projects and events throughout the year, including this year’s Day of Giving (D.O.G.).
On May 4, you can support local businesses as well as the university when you visit the establishments listed below and take advantage of their Day of Giving special offers.
Belts’ Soft Serve
Head over to a Pointer favorite, Belts on May 4! Their flavor of the day in honor of the D.O.G. will be The Pointer flurry! Made with homemade cookie dough and homemade brownie, you can’t go wrong! Not only will their flavor of the day honor our favorite DOG(s), but they will also be making a $250 gift to support campuswide scholarships.
Looking for some caffeine so that you can stay up for the full 24 hours on the D.O.G.? Emy J’s in Stevens Point will be roasting a special Pointer Blend that will be served as drip coffee that day and sold whole bean in-store, as well as making a latte special. They will be donating .50 cents from each item sold for the fundraiser. Get your caffeine fix in while supporting UWSP student scholarships, the best of both worlds!
